It’s all over for Long John Silver
A small pamphlet of poetry. Dedicated to Poets Against Racism. To the fight against racism and oppression. To never accept the black spot handed out by Capitalism. The continued attempts to work us to dust, bad health, poor housing, war. To try to divide and rule us so that we turn against our neighbours and erect walls to protect private property. The crisis they face now, of their own making, will also be marked by a common realisation that we can all live without billionaires but not nurses, doctors, posties, refuse collectors, bus drivers, teachers, Amazon warehouse workers, Deliveroo, Supermarket shelf stackers….. There will always be resistance. A fightback. Always the treasure map of a society where together we can fulfil our dreams.
